This jail houses a broad range of criminals that have committed Class A/B misdemeanors and felonies, including such crimes as - Aggravated Assault on an Officer, Burglary, Vandalism, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, and more. - TVs.
- Barbershop.
- Commissary (for purchasing food, hygiene products, reading material, etc.).
- Library (law library for those wanting to represent themselves).
- Chapel Services that cover all major religious denominations.

- Fully equipped hospital facilities where nurses and doctors can treat inmates. They cover a broad range of medical problems including both mental and physical issues. In spite of the medical services, any inmates with severe medical needs are typically taken out to the LA Twin Towers Correctional Facility that also houses maximum security inmates.

How do I Post Bail for an Inmate at the Los Angeles MCJ - Men's Central Jail?
- Cash Bail - A cash bail has to be the total amount. After it's posted, the inmate will be released pending the arraignment.
- Cashier's Check - This too must be for the total amount. Only California-bank-drawn checks will be accepted. They must be made payable to the LA Sheriff's Department and include the inmate's booking number and full name.
- Bail Bonds - Because most people are unable to post a cash bail or obtain a cashier's check for the total amount, they have the option to post a 'bail bond' to get someone out of jail. This is done under the assumption that the defendant will make all court appearances. Only 10% of the total amount is required to post bail. This is done through a Bail Bondsman.
- Money Orders – Must be for the total amount and made out to the LA Sheriff's Department. Inmate's name or booking number should be written somewhere on the money order.
